Many times in beginner Lyra classes, we teach a series of poses in effort to learn the basics. All too often students say, “but I don’t know how to connect poses” or “I can’t figure out how to make my own combo.” This workshop explores the missing element of “why” we do what we do on the Lyra. Aerial theory and concepts allow us to discover transitions and creative combinations. We will take the time to examine the theory (the “why”) of Lyra on paper, followed by movement exploration in order to put theory into practice. Bring your notebooks, your curiosity, and your willingness to explore your own organic movement.
