Squirrel around the trapeze through sequences that emphasize fluidity and transition. Discover smooth movement for better grace and flow. Learn tricks for traveling efficiently around the trapeze and across different levels: under the bar, on the bar, and in the ropes. Options for learning proper spin techniques will be included.
Pre-requisites: This workshop is geared toward advanced beginner dance trapeze students. Must be able to do a pullover from the ground without a spot (jumping or tagging feet on ropes is okay!) Must be comfortable in a hands-free gazelle on both sides.
About the Instructor: Caitlin is a former college athlete, an aerial and flexibility coach, and soon to be a Doctor of Physical Therapy student. Come learn from Caitlin before she moves to the West Coast to pursue her studies. She is a graduate of the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) ProTrack Program 2016-2018, where she specialized in dance trapeze. Her trapeze work focuses on moving with authenticity, is often guided by improvisation, and seeks to travel among multiple levels on the trapeze – from connecting to the ground all the way to wrapping in the ropes. She has completed Paper Doll Militia’s 40-hour Level 1 Teacher Training for trapeze and fabric. She teaches at NECCA and Show Circus Studio.
