Aerial Yoga & Aerial Arts Classes

All Levels Aerial Yoga

Unnata® Aerial Yoga offers authentic yoga with the support of a soft, aerial fabric hammock to explore, refine and advance traditional asana, both in the air and on the ground. Relax and realign the body, center the mind and uplift the spirit. Experience physical release, refined strength, energetic flow, and awareness of breath and body. Supported by the hammock, you’ll let go into gravity, deepen your practice, and awaken a “yogic high.”

Level 1 Sling

Sling is quickly becoming a popular aerial apparatus. Our level 1 sling classes are designed for brand new students and advanced beginning students. We utilize the Born to Fly Curriculum developed by Rebekah Leach. Level 1 curriculum contains more than 130 skills that incorporate intelligent progressions, hidden conditioning, and countless variations that allow you to ‘level-up’ your training as needed. You can easily spend a year taking weekly classes at this level and not run out of skills to learn. Furthermore, level 1 classes will help you develop the inversion strength required for level 2 intermediate sling classes. Who knew a loop of fabric could be this much fun?!

Aerial Cirque/Level 2 Sling

You are ready for level 2 when you have developed strong inversion strength which includes good grip and pull-up strength. In addition, you have a large movement vocabulary along with good mind-body awareness. You know the different wraps and crossings and can think for yourself in terms of what movement pathways to take to enter and exit a skill safely and creatively. We originally named our intermediate sling class ‘Cirque’ to distinguish it from aerial yoga classes (the two practices are quite different and there is a lot of confusion in the aerial world regarding sling versus yoga hammock classes). We still like this name for our intermediate sling skills class. Level 2 sling involves spinning, sequencing, choreography, and creative exploration.

Aerial Hoop/Lyra

Hoop, also called Lyra, is a steel ring hung vertically. Our hoop is attached to a single point with a swivel. This class is geared toward beginning and advanced beginning students. Using this aerial apparatus you will learn how to safely mount and dismount the apparatus. Skills are developed through learning tricks and poses underneath, inside, and on top of the hoop. Sequencing from one position to another is also emphasized. Each class begins with a thorough warm-up that includes strength conditioning and flexibility exercises and a brief cool down. Aerial Silks

Aerial silks, also known as tissue or aerial fabrics has become one of the most popular aerial/circus apparatuses. Rigged as two hanging panels of fabric from a central ceiling point, aerial silks is one of the most visually stunning and physically ambitious disciplines within the blossoming cirque community. Students use climbing, wrapping, and locks to create poses and choreography of grace, beauty, and strength, all while hanging in the air. Our classes are designed to help beginning students understand the theory behind fabric, and gain strength while creating elegant shapes in the air. With guided training and strength conditioning, Silks can be a unique way to motivate your next workout, or express your creative outlet. Aerial Dance

Make beautiful shapes in the fabric and build your aerial fabric repertoire. Discover the aerial dancer within during this innovative, uplifting class. In aerial dance, we put it all together: a little bit of floor dance choreography followed by a big dose of innovative aerial sequencing all set to music.

Aerial Yin/Restorative (Low Hammock)

Low Hammock. Long holds. Luxurious practice. Longer held postures devoted to softening, nourishing, hydrating and restoring the deeper, denser connective tissue of the body (ligaments, tendons, bones, fascia). Our goal is deep relaxation and meditation resulting in a refreshing practice. A great class for those who prefer grounded inversions.
